Former Soboba Band chairman Salgado pleads guilty for bribes

Robert Salgado, the former chairman of the
Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians
of California, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to accepting bribes and concealing his income.
Salgado, 68, admitted he took nearly $875,000 in bribes from vendors who did business with the tribe. He failed to report his income to the
Internal Revenue Service.
Salgado served as chairman for more than 30 years before being indicted last year.
